The human body’s primary filtration system is the Liver which converts toxins into waste products, cleanses the blood, expels sugars and unnecessary fats, and metabolizes nutrients, even medications. This process provides the body with very important proteins. It is so important to keep the liver healthy and to limit overindulgences, including too many sugary foods or alcohol.  Medical and Health marketplaces are flooded with magic formulas and pills to detox the liver, reduce belly fat, clear up the skin, and the list just goes on. Everything is way out of alignment for most budgets too! So i've been researching some natural solutions myself that I can control. I found its most often the combination of ingredients in specific amounts on a daily basis that seem to be working for me so far. Although I worked in healthcare, infectious diseases and mental health working environments, I am not a nutritionist, an herbalist, nor a physician. I do loads of research and self experimentation. Im careful too because I am diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Liver and kidney health is most important to me. So in addition to deep spiritual inner works and healing, I choose to be aware of liver health concerns and natural means for healing my own body and mind.

 

So far what I know is that while some common ingredients in liver cleanse have been shown to have positive results (milk thistle has decreased liver inflammation, and turmeric has been shown to protect against liver injury) there have not been adequate clinical trial data in humans to recommend the routine use of these natural compounds for prevention of liver disease. Nor do they cure one while overindulging in bad foods or alcohol abuse. They do help to keep the liver regulated along with healthy diets and exercise.  I also found out that liver detoxification products being sold as weight loss remedies can actually be harmful and lead to drug-induced injury if not used properly. Such was the case of my sister who died from kidney and liver damage from mixing all these marketplace wonder drugs with alcohol overindulgence and sugary foods. There are no clinical trial data to support the efficacy of these cleanses nor do they cure existing liver diseases. Before taking any of these ingredients on a daily basis, one should consult their primary health care physician, particularly if they have any specific or ongoing health issues, are pregnant, or are allergic to foods and other medications. Inappropriate combinations could cause adverse side effects if you're not considering your overall health care needs.  

 

Having said that, the list down below contains my personal liver detox and maintenance ingredients. They can be used as extracts or taken as dietary supplements in a powder or already made tablet form. I take mine at least three times weekly for maintenance but they can be taken daily for at least two to four weeks when detoxing. I urge you to do your own research into the benefits and health concerns of each substance as this exercise will open you up and aid you in your own awareness and knowledge.

Tumeric - Ginger - Milk thistle - Beet root - Dandelion - Artichoke Extract

 

You would need to consume several oortions idaily to benefit from it. The ancients had a process for creating highly condensed extracts from these plants! Artichoke has demonstrated antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities and has been investigated for use in the treatment of cardiovascular disease risk factors (ie, cholesterol), diabetes, GI disease, and liver diseases. It does help to reduce weight and belly fat. However, modern clinical data are lacking to support use of artichoke for any indication. Our ancients knew better of course! So I make good use of the capsules.
